Dimecuba offers a global service that connects the entire Cuban diaspora throughout the world. This is why this is a World Wide Class project, with huge volumes of managed traffic and significant technological challenges. The main needs of the client are:

  • Providing a solution capable of serving the organization across the globe.
  • High performance capable of absorbing huge amounts of traffic from all over the world.
  • Scalability that allows the solution to adapt to the constant growth of the organization.
  • Geographical distribution of high traffic points.
  • High availability of a service that handles thousands of calls and therefore a stop can mean great economic losses.

La solución

Irontec, in previous candidacies to best case of success has presented voluminous projects in terms  of technological headquarters or challenges, with complex scenarios of main architecture. On this ocassion, Irontec has grown in terms of personnel and projects and therefore we present a special project.

Dimecuba offers a global service that connects the entire Cuban diaspora throughout the world. This is shy this is a World Whide Class project, with huge volumes of managed traffic and significant technological challenges in the following areas:

  • VoIP (Of course), SIP Routing, B2BUA's, app's "pipeline" stacked and rest of the components detailed in the following sections.
  • Advanced discovery services (CONSUL and derivatives) for horizontal scaling.
  • Advanced networking (^BGP, MPLS Linux) and derivatives.
  • Systems and DevOps: Balancers, real clusterized bbdd engines, advanced storage (ZFS over iSCI mpath), advanced scaling for high load peaks..

This project has a very high volume of active users that in their totality are approximately:

400.000 users (active!!!!!) making use of the platform daily)

On this complex architecture, we would be talking about peaks higher than 2000 concurrent calls and maximums of more than 450 000 total calls per day.

The client has a highly scalable solution, capable of absorbing enormous amounts of traffic in a controlled manner, providing the organization with the technological base necessary for the construction of its project. All this with the benefits of Free Software.

Irontec has also contributed its extensive knowledge to face the different technical challenges presented by the project detailed in ANNEX 2 attached to this candidacy.

Also based on this project has contributed to the community tools such as Blackbox SIP (https://github.com/irontec/bbs), numerous contributions to CGRates, large volume of documentation published on our blog for technical dissemination (https://blog.irontec.com).
